Every fish lover knows Doga Balik. It is one of the cult places at Cihangir in its field. Ibrahim Sogukdag, owner of the place, who uses only virgin olive oil in his kitchen and never prefers mayonnaise, ketchup, cream, and saturated oils, even dries and prepares paprika himself.

Doga Balik, where everything is consumed fresh and daily, is an extraordinary fish restaurant with its rich fish varieties and delicious herbs never found anywhere else. Braised, simmered and stewed lantern fish, and sea-scorpions; and cooked and simmered and stewed horse mackerel, roach and mackerel are among the indispensable flavors at the place.

One should not pass without mentioning fish salads and delicatessens prepared with 35 different herbs besides different fish delicatessens.

Selvi Restaurant, which has celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, offers to its frequenters the tastes of the Turkish and Ottoman cuisines with its everlasting quality.

The place which begins the day with breakfast service and continues until dawn the next day has a capacity of 55 seats. Metin Hacizade, who operates the place and supervises the place thoroughly from food to personnel, explains the reason for the ability to continue at the same address for long years, with the quality-taste- naturalness concept.
To introduce the Turkish cuisine to the world is among the goals of Selvi Restaurant, one of the first restaurants to implement self-service in Turkey.
For this purpose, Metin Hacizade sends internet messages to the world from his website.

Also within the complex is the tomb of Galip Dede, the 17th century Sufi poet after whom the street is named. For more details on the dervishes and their whirlings.

At the place where the tradition of flavor has been maintained from generation to generation since 1920, dishes are satiating and prices quite suitable.

Except fast food products, you can find rich menus suitable for every preference; you can eat vegetable cooked with olive oil, roasted or stewed meats, meatballs, and kebabs, and safely try chicken or fish varieties. You must certainly taste soup and dessert varieties too. The menu is changed twice daily at the restaurant, where almost 40 varieties of dishes, 10 alternative desserts and fruits of the season are offered every day.

Kay’s Restaurant, an adaptation of the local pubs in Europe to Turkey is one of the oldest places at Cihangir.
The place with a menu from German, French and Italian cuisines, and pork varieties is mostly frequented by the Turkish minorities and foreigners and goes beyond the boundaries of Cihangir with its style. Suat Şenel, the owner and operator of the place opened the Don Pietro Pizza House two years ago opposite Kay’s Restaurant.

You can eat your pizzas, each more delicious than the other, at Kay’s Restaurant if you wish or order a package service to your home or workplace.
We highly recommend that you try the pizzas each a banquet of flavor with their attractive names of Pizza Roma, Kay’s Special Pizza, Pizza Alla Turca, Pizza Valentino, Pizza Vegeterian, Pizza Siciliana, and Pizza Arrabbiata.

FROM BEHIND THE CAUCASUS MOUNTAIN TO BEYOGLU

Fıccın was born to let people share the unique flavors of the Circassian cuisine, and to add new flavors to the traditional cuisine culture. The name Fıccın which means “bread with minced meat” in the Oset language has maintained and enhanced its recognition with the same meticulousness and care since 1996, the year of its establishment.

Among the sine qua non of the place is the “Circassian puff stuffed with minced meat” (Gabin/Haluj), “Velibah”, “Circassian Chicken” and of course, “Fıccın”. The menu however, changed every day and including around 20 dish varieties, is the guaranty for offering almost any flavor preferred by different people.

Fıccın owes the attention it gets to its home-made cookies, cakes and “pogaca”s too, and the “borek”s of tea times and breakfasts. Fıccın opened a new place at the end of the summer this year at Süslü Saksı Sokak No.12, with the name of “NÖBETÇİ FICCIN”. Nöbetçi Fıccın gives service every day until late hours of the night with its soup varieties and some traditional tastes of the Fıccın cuisine.

Tunisien is easily differentiated from other places with its garden, ethnic cuisine and the section where dresses designed by Zeynep Tunuslu are sold.
The cuisine under the management of Chef Mete Alpay offers a banquet of new flavors by interpreting Turkish, Mediterranean and Magreb (Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian) cuisines with a fusion concept.

The celebrity will be at the kitchen to prepare the menu at dinner nights to be organized at Tunisien anticipating to host different organizations. Tunisien, beginning the day with breakfast service and a light lunch menu and continuing with the Tophane refreshments at the five-o’clock-tea, offers different flavors every hour each day.

Beef with Magreb sauce served on ember-roasted eggplant, Tunisian risotto, and meatballs on lemon leaves are among the dinner specialties which will leave different flavors on your palate.

Tunisien, open between 10:00-24:00 hours during the week and between 10:00-02:00 on weekends will be your new address with the comfortable sitting organization in the garden, its ethnic cuisine, live music and DJ party nights.
